The Challenge

Faced with valued employees that were relocating, or needed to work from home, the challenge for MSS was retaining workers who made ongoing contributions to vital customer relationships. MSS needed a way to extend complex custom applications to reach these employees and seamlessly integrate their activities with on-site operations. To achieve this goal, Movers Specialty Service turned to Binary Research. A critical task for Binary Research was to prevent on-site and remote users from interfering with each other while updating a job simultaneously. To achieve this, real-time record locking - a difficult and delicate process with remote database operations - was essential. Other challenges included delivering job information and related document image data quickly via the Internet, and preserving system ability to endure high volume and intense data demand during peak season.
